casual suggestion…He wasn’t hoping that some would “find the time” to
go, but He was passionately pleading with them that they MUST go, no matter
what! He knew what was going to happen to them!}

Why did He say “lambs” instead of “sheep” (v. 3)? {explain
diff. Between lambs & sheep – they were still “wet behind the ears”,
excited, full of energy…He wanted them to take their energy and use it for
God. When you are young, you have a thirst for adventure and fun. God knows when
you go on a mission trip, you will get that thirst quenched because you will be
on the cutting edge of doing something great for God. }

Why go on a mission trip? Go because you are young, not in spite of
the fact, but because of it! You are adventurous; you like to have fun!

Why should we become World Changers?
A. (V.17) “…72 returned with joy…” When they
came back, they had an incredible bond – fire and joy were in their hearts
because God used them to change the world together.
You receive a fire from God when He uses you to touch other people’s
lives! They came back totally fired up because God was using them for miracles!

8. There are people who need to come to Jesus RIGHT NOW!
Jesus saw the crowds as INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE, and He wanted others to understand
that the multitudes were REAL PEOPLE. The crowds of people in the world are not
a nameless and faceless people; THEY ARE
REAL LIVES THAT NEED TO BE TOUCHED BY THE POWER OF GOD!

9. We need to pray! Jesus told the disciples they should
pray for workers to go to the harvest fields.
What kind of prayer was Jesus talking about? (Luke 10:2)
Was it “Oh Lord bless these missionaries” or “bless these poor
people”…NO! To pray for laborers (including US!)
10. Why did Jesus tell them to pray before they went?
A. He knew that if they began to pray for people, they would begin to get compassion and a love for them and see them the way God does.
B. THIS IS THE KIND OF PRAYER THAT GETS UNDER YOUR SKIN AND MAKES YOU REALIZE JESUS REALLY DID GIVE HIS LIFE FOR PEOPLE WHO SPEAK DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AROUND THE WORLD, BUT…..MOST OF THEM HAVE NO IDEA HE WAS EVEN ALIVE!!!!

What does it mean to
be moved with compassion?
A. To have God’s
kind of compassion and to see people the way God sees them, we need to pray for
those people and let God’s compassion begin to well up in our hearts.

difference between being a “sayer” of the Word and a “doer” of the
Word…Even people in church are caught up in things that don’t have an
eternal purpose – we need to be dedicated to things that will last for an
eternity.
