David Oberg is the Senior Pastor of Faith Alive
Christian Center in Reno, Nevada, a family oriented,
growing church that is thriving under David’s
leadership. David and his wife Frances' ministry is
characterized by the Gifts of the Spirit, excellence in
teaching, and a strong emphasis on the message of faith.
Faith Alive Christian Center is positioning itself to be
a force in winning the lost in Reno and abroad, reaping
the End Time Harvest as Jesus commanded. FACC is also a
mother church, and has a vision to plant ministries of
faith around the country, already having done so in
Texas, Washington, California, Utah, and the
Philippines. David is a 1984
graduate of Rhema Bible Training center in Broken Arrow,
OK, founded by the Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin. While there,
he applied himself to move in to the full time mission
field, but in 1983 the Lord spoke to his heart about
pastoring, which he followed obediently. The zeal for
the lost is still evident in this ministry today,
exemplified by not only reaching out to our local
community, but by supporting missions around the world,
fulfilling the Great Commission. The vision God has
given him for this ministry will help to impact the
State of Nevada, usually only known for darkness, with
the light of the Gospel of Christ, through personal
outreach into the community and different media outlets
including billboards, radio, and
television ministry.
David has served in several aspects
of ministry, including being an instructor at Faith
Bible College in San Jose, CA, under the leadership of
Pastor Dick Bernal and Jubilee Christian Center, as well
as serving several years as an associate pastor in
California. He was also the associate pastor under
Pastor Roy Cragg here in Reno, before
assuming his present pastorate, which began in 1994.
During his time at FACC, David has been a vision caster
and lead by example, implementing outreaches and
ministries sometimes only associated with larger
ministries. In 2001, we went on the air locally on
NBC with our "Demonstrations
of Faith" TV program. The name of our program is
derived from a mandate that God gave Pastor David, and
that is to "teach, preach, and demonstrate faith". We
have now been on the air for our 10th season in Northern
Nevada and California, spreading the Gospel of Jesus
Christ and the message of faith and victory on the
airwaves.
After reading a book by
Pastor John Hagee in 2006 (Jerusalem Countdown),
Pastor David was stunned at the treatment of Jews
throughout history, especially at the hands of the
church. He found it in his heart to try and bless some
Jewish people locally, so he sowed an offering into a
local synagogue. Little did he know at the time that
this was a seed that would transform his ministry, and
help him to have the first "Night to Honor Israel" in
Reno, NV in 2008. Since then, he has traveled back to
the land of Israel, and taken it upon himself and his
church to stand with the Nation of Israel and the Jewish
people of the world in their darkest hours. He became
the City Director of Reno/Sparks for CUFI in 2008, and
we are having our third NTHI in December 2011.

Pastor Frances' ministry is marked
by close communion and fellowship with God, that
translates into a strong prayer life as well as
inspirational preaching & teaching. Pastor Fran has led
the Women's Ministry at FACC for many years now, and is
in the 17th year of hosting a Women's Luncheon and
Conference, with powerful women's ministers from around
the country always bringing the move of the Spirit and a
Word in season to the Body of Christ in Reno.
David is an ordained minister
through Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, CA. He and
his wife Frances were married in 1984. Their household
expanded in 2003 with the addition of their first son,
Jonathan. They both have a true pastor’s heart, flowing
together in the Gifts of the Spirit, and overseeing
their congregation with love and compassion. They are
committed to equipping the saints for the work of the
ministry, and to helping people fulfill the plan of God
for their life.
